Maybe people should learn what respect means

In my opinion, i think that most teenagers and kids my age have absolutely no knowledge of what respect means. In case those rude people need an updated definition of this here you go...courtesy of dictionary.com:
respect: esteem for or a sense of worth or excellence of a person....

I think that it all boils down to the fact that people view themselves higher than they need to. Is what you have to say really that important that you have to completely ignore what your authority figure is trying to say? Or that you have to give them a completely uncalled for sarcastic remark? Teachers and adults deserve our respect whether you think they are annoying or mean or what. Just because they might be cool doesn't give you the right to take advantage of them. No matter what they say or do the fact that they are in charge does not change. You have to respect them no exceptions....just be polite and maybe people will like you better.

What makes people respond?

I have heard countless stories about God being removed from the public, but the story about cheerleaders signs being taken down in Oglethorpe, Ga stood out. In most cases it seems like when the government removes religion from things Christians get angry but never do anything to follow up. Here, we have a whole community in uproar about something as small as a football sign. Why is it that these people are willing to protest and rebel over this but when prayer was removed from schools actions weren't this bold?

Maybe you should widen your prospective!

Recently the Fox News network has been "attacked" by our president and his administration. Obama has shown signs of boycotting the station and this has caused a massive uproar among the staunch republicans who only believe news that comes from one station (wonder which network that is??). This huge issue is quite annoying to me because I feel like the only people who are commenting on this are the people who watch Fox. Well of course the supporters of the network are going to be infuriated by Obama not appearing on their beloved shows and calling it not a genuine news network. I believe that most Fox supporters only get their news from Fox and this contains many issues. One, how can you get your news from an extremely biased news network?? If all the TV hosts are republicans wont the context of the news tend to lean to the right? From here the second problem develops....if you only hear biased news will you be open to different opinions and facts? I ask this because many people that I go to school with believe that Fox is the only place where you get factual information and this is not true! Countless times I have heard students say that something is not true just because it was reported from a station like CNN or NBC. How can you say this if you arent willing to research the actual topic and see what the facts say before you develop your opinion from an obvious biased outlook? Super conservative people bother me and unfortunately I am surronded by them....

New Obama Supporter

I have to say that before November 4 I was a McCain supporter. At first I was disappointed that he lost, but then I realized that there is no reason in complaining about our new president just becuase he isn't the one I would have voted for. As a Christian, I believe that God chose Obama to run our country for a reason. He has a plan for the United States in the coming 4 years and that includes Obama. I think it is pointless and stupid for any McCain supporters and those who have the NOBAMA stickers on their cars to bash him and not respect and support him. He is the ruler of our country, not McCain and that isn't going to change. He deservers our respect because God calls us to obey our leaders. Hebrews 13:17 says, "Obey your leaders and submit to their authority. They keep watch over you as men who must give an account. Obey them so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no advantage to you". The author or Hebrews makes it very clear that God is telling us to show obedience to those that are in authority over us. God has called us to respect and obey President elect Obama which involves praying for him; not insulting him. I am now an Obama supporter because he is the leader of my country.

Impossible should be renamed to addicting

There is this game called the impossible quiz that is literally addicting. Ever since I have been introduced to this game I can't stop playing it. My journalism teacher despises it because half of our class just play it all day instead of blogging. So I decided to blog about it =). The game is extremely strange. The questions are reandom and most of the time the answers don't make since. Whoever invented it is definately very creative. Today in class I found out that there is a second one...I am extremely excited but at the same annoyed. I know that I am going to be addicted to the second one too and a lot of times, I don't want to play it but I do anyways. It's like my body is taking over me. Don't take my word for it, see for yourself.....have fun!

I will not take responsibilty for anyone who also becomes addicted....BEWARE!

Please play responsibly!

Someone help!

They say that your junior year is your hardest and now that I am going through it, I completely agree. It's only been 5 weeks and I have been stressed literally for 35 days straight. This year's classes have been overwhelming; to make it worse I have to combine that with softball. We have softball everyday so I never get to start my homework and studying until almost 7:00 on a good night. The two combined have led me to tears way too much. I am a person who really does not cry that much but these past 5 weeks have brought on more tears combined than this entire year! I get overwhelmed by my studying for classes like AP biology and just freak out cause I have so much to do I don't know where to start...needless to say I am ready for the rest of the school year (which is like the entire school year) to go ahead and finish. In May I will be proud to say that I have survived my junior year, but right now I'm not sure if I can make it til then!

"No, I refuse to!"

So im sitting here eating my Easy Mac trying to think of something i could write about, which I have been doing all day. This idea just popped in my head so I'm going to take it and run with it...Does a task which you are told to do make you not want to do it? For me it does in certain situations. I realize that someone who doesn't want to do what they are told might have an authority problem but it's only certain things that make me want to do this. Alot of things I can do with no problem like fixing my dinner, doing some chores, running errands, and lots of things similar to that, but other things I can't take. For example, I play softball at my school and everytime my team practices or plays we have to pick up the equipment afterwards. The upperclassmen do get senority most of the time and don't have to clean, but there are those times when a coach or senior asks me to get something. This is the instance when I want to tell them no and to get it themselves. This sounds a little harsh and it might be but i absoluetly hate picking up the bats, helments, and other things. Don't ask me why, but when someone tells me to help clean up in softball. I would gladly pick something up if I was in the mood to or if I did it out of my own will. This is a weird example...sorry. It is not only this simple stuff that doesn't really matter. There are also some deeper things ,that I'm not going to go in to, that when I'm told to do, I don't want to. I guess it is the independent side of me that makes me like this and I probably should try to remove it from me. I think many others are just like this. For some reason, people want to do things on their own time and on their own terms. They do not want people telling them what to do. Going back to what I said earlier it is definately some kind of authority problem. I honestly think it is our society that has made us like this. We think the world revolves around us therefore we can do what we want, when we want, and how we want it. The world today is teaching us to be selfish and we are excepting it. As time has progressed, one thinks more and more about themselves and less and less about others. I hate to say it but I know that sometimes I am like this and I think that everybody else is guilty of it too. One thing to think about is: What would the world be like if everyone started thinking less about themselves and more about others? I think I have gone off on a tangent, maybe not, but it's just something to ponder.
